Right to Heating Assistance

Individuals and families with low incomes who meet certain criteria set by the Social Assistance Agency are entitled to heating assistance. The main conditions include:

  • Low Income: Households must have a monthly income below a specified threshold, which is updated annually.

  • Social Status: Assistance is also available to disadvantaged individuals, such as pensioners with low pensions, people with disabilities, single parents, the unemployed, and other vulnerable groups.

  • Property Status: They must not own real estate or movable property of significant value that could be used to cover heating costs.

  • Other Criteria: Specific family and life circumstances, such as having children or elderly individuals living alone, may also be taken into account.

Applications for heating assistance are submitted annually to the "Social Assistance" directorates between July 1 and October 31.
